In a world dominated by various conflicts and crises, we must ensure that young people are aware of geopolitical issues and challenges, are adequately informed, and that their voices are heard and respected.
Many countries do not offer such opportunities, and do not help students find their way in this complex world. At the same time, Model United Nations (MUN), so conferences that simulate UN sessions, are gaining popularity. They provide young people with the opportunity to meet and discuss the most important issues facing the contemporary world. Participants take on the role of delegates from various UN member states and debate in committees such as the WHO, the Security Council, and ECOSOC. They join forces and strive to find effective solutions to the presented topics.
MUN conferences are held worldwide, bringing together students and travelling delegations from all continents.
One of the organizers of such trips is MUN Estonia (MUN Estonia). In recent years, hundreds of people have joined their delegations and attended conferences in New York, Paris, and Harvard. To date, participants have come primarily from Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, and, this year, Poland. However, in 2027, the organization is expanding its activities globally and organizing its own event.
In February of 2027, an MUN conference will take place in New York City, organized by MUN Estonia (now morphing into MUN Global) in cooperation with COSEEA. This trip offer more than just the conference itself, but also an opportunity to explore the city.
Since the organization began collaborating with Poland in 2026, students from Poland have the opportunity to participate in the event.
Registration is now open. There is no application process – the sooner you apply, the greater your chance of securing a spot. I encourage everyone, even those without debate experience, to explore the program (MUN New York 2027 | CoSEEA). I have participated in this year’s edition, and it was an absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience. Please contact me with any questions.
